ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited agreed to acquire 9.95% stake in The Federal Bank Limited.

The Federal Bank Limited (the Bank) is a banking company. The Bank is engaged in providing banking and financial services, including retail banking, corporate banking, foreign exchange business and treasury operations. It operates through three segments: Treasury, Corporate/Wholesale Banking and Retail Banking. Its Treasury segment operations include trading and investments in government securities and corporate debt instruments, equity and mutual funds, derivatives, and foreign exchange operations on proprietary account and for customers. Its Corporate/ Wholesale Banking segment consists of lending of funds, acceptance of deposits and other banking services to corporates, trusts, partnership firms and statutory bodies. Its Retail banking segment constitutes lending of funds, acceptance of deposits and other banking services to any legal person, including small business customers. It has a network of 1,391 branches and approximately 1,357 automated teller machines (ATMs) in India.
