UNTERFÖHRING (dpa-AFX) - Joko and Klaas' 24-hour anarchic TV show earned their employer ProSieben fantastic ratings among young viewers on Sunday. "ProSieben shone throughout Sunday with a daily market share of a terrific 17.4 percent," the station announced on Monday, referring to the target group of 14 to 49-year-old viewers, which is important for private stations. At times, "peak values of up to 24.1 percent market share" were achieved there.

In this younger target group, the fun makers' primetime show even overtook the 8 p.m. "Tagesschau" on the first channel and ARD's "Polizeiruf 110". In the overall audience aged three and over, the ProSieben programs were far behind, with the duo's 8.15 p.m. show in 17th place.

According to the industry service dwdl.de, Joko and Klaas achieved their highest 14-to-49 market share since November 2020, when the finale of the third season of "Masked Singer" achieved excellent ratings in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

For ProSieben boss Hannes Hiller, it was "a sensational Joko & Klaas program day with sensational figures." The primetime show "Ein sehr gutes Quiz mit hoher Gewinnsumme" performed particularly well among 14- to 49-year-olds with a market share of 20.8 percent. According to the announcement by station boss Hiller, it will continue in the regular ProSieben program.

The two entertainers had taken over the ProSieben program for a one-off 24-hour period. The campaign lasted from 0:00 to 23:59 on Sunday. The two had earned the entire program day a week ago on the show "Joko und Klaas gegen ProSieben".

Among other things, the audience got to see how Joko and Klaas set off huge fireworks in a Berlin cellar, how they played cards with Sido in the empty Olympic Stadium or simply bought up trolls of people from Berlin.

In between, the two switched to a herd of antelopes at a waterhole in the Namibian desert for three quarters of an hour - even this program point achieved a 17.7 percent market share in the target group (14-49 years). The duo also took over the direction of sister station Sat.1 for a time./bok/DP/ngu
