COLOGNE (dpa-AFX) - A change in the management of RTL Germany: Matthias Dang, Head of Technology, Data and Artificial Intelligence, is leaving the Koln-based television group after more than 30 years. He will leave RTL "at the beginning of next year at his own request and by mutual agreement", the company announced on Monday.

The 57-year-old will be succeeded by the manager, who comes from competitor ProSiebenSat.1: "Carsten Schwecke (48) will be appointed to the Management Board of RTL Germany on April 1, 2025 and, as the new Chief Commercial, Technology & Data Officer, will be responsible for all commercial, technological and data & AI-based activities of RTL Germany," RTL announced.

"With his deep understanding of the media industry and its constantly changing challenges as well as his broad expertise, Carsten Schwecke will further develop the marketing offerings of RTL Germany and the Ad Alliance together with Frank Vogel, Managing Director Ad Alliance, as well as intensify the expansion of data and AI-based advertising technology."

Schwecke was most recently Head of Marketing at Seven. One Entertainment Group and was previously CEO of Axel Springer All Media and Media Impact until the end of 2022. In this role, he had already worked intensively with the Ad Alliance and RTL Deutschland. Last week, ProSiebenSat.1 announced that Schwecke was leaving the Group and was "on leave with immediate effect"./bok/DP/jha
