Siemens Mobility, together with its consortium partner Hassan Allam Construction, has announced that it has won a contract for the rail link between Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and Sohar in the Sultanate of Oman.

The contract was awarded by Oman-Etihad Rail, a joint venture jointly owned by Oman and the United Arab Emirates, to supply the network.

Specifically, Siemens Mobility and Hassan Allam Construction will design, build and integrate the signalling, telecommunications and ETCS level 2 power supply systems on the 303-kilometer Abu Dhabi-Sohar rail link.

The Oman section of the network will be the first rail system to be delivered in the history of the Sultanate of Oman.
