Natura & Co.'s chief executive and executive chairman is stepping down as the skincare and fragrances brand owner transitions to a holding company structure and eliminates certain senior roles.

The operator of brands such as the Body Shop and Avon said Wednesday that Roberto Marques plans to remain on the board of directors during the transition before retiring at the end of the year.

As part of the reorganization, role roles such as the company's sustainable growth officer and chief transformation officer will be eliminated or revisted in the new company structure, Natura said.

Marques said Wednesday that the reorganization was the "right direction."

Non-executive director Fabio Barbosa, who is chairman the board's people committee, will be leading the company as it redefines its corporate structure in the coming months, Natura said.
