Despite a rise in sales, Cafom reported lower half-year results on Monday, mainly due to the impact of ongoing inflationary pressures.

The specialist in home furnishings and equipment said that sales for the first half of the year, ending March 31, were up 3.4% on the previous year at 208.9 million euros.

However, in a bid to cushion the impact of inflationary pressures on consumers and help combat the high cost of living, the Group explained that it had deliberately decided not to pass on all price increases.

As a result, its recurring operating income fell to 9.8 million for the half-year, compared with 13.6 million a year earlier, for net income of 7.1 million euros, versus 11.1 million euros last year.

Cafom operates, among others, the But, Darty, Habitat, Nature & Découvertes and Musique et Son banners in French overseas territories.
