Ampla Energia announced earnings results for the first quarter of 2014. For the quarter, the company reported a 9.1% year-on-year drop in net profit to BRL 145 million. The company's net operating revenue increased by 14.4% to BRL 1.06 billion.
Gross operating revenue advanced by 12.3% to BRL 1.49 billion, bolstered by strong electricity sales. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 12.9% to BRL 249 million.
