Viel & Cie reports a 21.7% increase in net income (group share) for the first half of 2023, to 50.9 million euros, and operating income (including associates) of 94.9 million, up 46.1%.
Sales by operating subsidiaries rose by 12.1% to 553.7 million (+13.4% at constant exchange rates), with increases of 11.1% for the Compagnie Financière Tradition financial intermediation division and 30.1% for the Bourse Direct online brokerage division.
Business levels for the first half of the year were in line with those of the previous year, supported by central banks' monetary policy management in a context of persistent inflation", explains the financial group.

Viel & Cie is an investment company specializing in acquiring long-term shares in companies operating in the finance sector. Net sales break down by sector of activity as follows:
- professional intermediation (95.2%; Compagnie Financière Tradition): intermediation in interest and exchange products (monetary products, interest and exchange rate derivatives, credit derivatives, exchange options), in securities and security derivatives (stocks, stock and index derivatives, bonds, etc.), and in the raw material and energy markets (precious metals, coal, oil, electricity, natural gas, paper pulp);

Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe/Middle East/Africa (46.2%), Americas (29.8%) and Asia/Pacific (24%).
