Unionpay International partnered with Trip.com, an online travel agency, to provide improved payment options for Unionpay cardholders. Unionpay online payment will now be accepted in major transaction currencies on Trip.com's global sites, including various travel markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, according to a press release.

Trip.com operates in over 200 countries and regions, offering a wide range of accommodation options across more than 1.2 million hotels and a flight network spanning over 2 million routes in 5,000 cities. UPI serves cardholders in 79 countries and regions.

This partnership expands online acceptance to over 200 million Unionpay cardholders outside of mainland China.
