S&P places Telecom Italia's ratings on credit watch after KKR deal

(Reuters) - Credit ratings agency S&P on Thursday placed Telecom Italia's ratings on review for upgrade after the company's board approved KKR's 19 billion euro ($20.34 billion) bid for its fixed-line network.

Earlier this week, credit ratings agency Moody's had placed Telecom Italia's "B1" ratings on review for upgrade following the deal.

Net sales break down by activity as follows: - telecommunication services (91.8%): fixed telephony, mobile telephony, data transmission, Internet access, etc.; - manufacturing and sale of office and terminal equipment (8.2%; Olivetti): digital printing systems, fax and terminals (for games, electronic voting, etc.).
