Syensqo announced on Thursday the signing of a strategic partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, with the stated aim of strengthening its commitment to innovation in the circular economy.

Under the terms of this three-year agreement, the Foundation will continue to draw on Syensqo's input and expertise, while pursuing its research in favor of waste elimination, product circularity and the regeneration of nature.

Syensqo, for its part, says it intends to focus on three areas, namely the recycling of valuable materials, the extension of material lifetimes and the design of biodegradable products.

The specialty chemicals group, which has set itself the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, says that over 80% of its innovation projects are currently devoted to sustainable solutions.
