(Alliance News) - Spindox Spa on Friday let it be known that it is among the partners to carry out two projects funded by PNRR funds in the area of innovation ecosystems for sustainability.

One of the projects is SIMBA - Intelligent Biological and Environmental Monitoring Systems, while the second is BeTWIN - Real-Time AI-Powered Urban Port Digital Twin.

This is EUR1.6 million in total funds allocated from the PNRR for the SIMBA and BeTWIN research projects in which Spindox is a partner. The projects, financed by PNRR funds, fall under the scope of creating and strengthening innovation ecosystems for sustainability, the company explained in a note.

Specifically, SIMBA concerns the development of edge computing and artificial intelligence platforms with which to build monitoring systems in the aquatic sector, capable of autonomously interpreting data and providing useful information for different application contexts, while BeTWIN concerns the development of an Integrated Dynamic Monitoring System within the port area and the surrounding city area, capable of collecting, processing and distributing real-time data from heterogeneous sensors in the field.

The main objective is to create an intelligent monitoring environment that, through AI systems, provides a detailed snapshot of activities and conditions in the area both inside and outside the port.

Mauro Marengo, CEO of Spindox, commented, "In Spindox's strategic vision, research to support industrial innovation plays an important role. We are therefore particularly pleased to participate in these two projects in Liguria, where artificial intelligence is used as a tool to foster the sustainability of the territory, all the more so because AI and sustainability are two key themes of our positioning."

Spindox is flat at EUR9.40 per share.
