Qualcomm Technologies announced on Wednesday that it would be entering the notebook processor market with the launch of the Snapdragon X Plus.

The American group, which until now has specialized in wireless chips, says this new microprocessor will be based on its Oryon graphics chip, and is claimed to be 37% faster than its competitors, with 54% lower power consumption.

With this innovation, Qualcomm says it wants to set a new standard in mobile computing, enabling users to benefit from improved performance.

According to Qualcomm, the first laptop models equipped with the Snapdragon X Plus should be on the market from mid-2024.

The market for laptop processors is currently dominated by Intel, which enjoys a market share of around 80%, ahead of AMD, which controls around 20% of the sector.
