emeis, formerly known as Orpea, announced on Tuesday that it had signed an agreement for the sale of a real estate portfolio comprising eleven retirement homes in the Netherlands for around €97 million.

The dependency care specialist said that the transaction was part of its strategy of targeted disposals of real estate assets, with the aim of strengthening its financial structure.

The group's objective is to reduce the percentage of its assets in operation to between 20% and 25% in the medium term.

These disposals are accompanied by the signature of leases by emeis, which will operate all eleven facilities.

The scope of the assets sold to the Bouwinvest real estate group includes five recently built retirement homes and six under development, which will be sold as they are completed in 2024 and 2025.
