Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was USD 94.43 million compared to USD 97.69 million a year ago. Revenue was USD 132.97 million compared to USD 133.73 million a year ago. Net income was USD 24.16 million compared to USD 27.49 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.26 compared to USD 1.45 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.23 compared to USD 1.41 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was USD 263.75 million compared to USD 257.88 million a year ago. Revenue was USD 373.29 million compared to USD 357.33 million a year ago. Net income was USD 64.25 million compared to USD 65.05 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 3.34 compared to USD 3.43 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 3.27 compared to USD 3.33 a year ago.
Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. owns and operates the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, a hotel and casino in Reno, Nevada (the Atlantis) and the Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk (the Monarch Black Hawk), a hotel and casino in Black Hawk, Colorado. In addition, it owns separate parcels of land located next to the Atlantis and a parcel of land with an industrial warehouse located between Denver, Colorado, and Monarch Black Hawk. The Atlantis is located approximately three miles south of downtown, which features approximately 61,000 square feet of casino space; 817 guest rooms and suites; eight food outlets; two gourmet coffee and pastry bars and one snack bar; a 30,000 square-foot health spa and salon with an enclosed year-round pool. Monarch Black Hawk features approximately 60,000 square feet of casino space; approximately 1,000 slot machines; approximately 43 table games; a live poker room; a keno counter and a sports book. The resort also includes 10 bars and lounges.
