Guararapes Confecções S.A. announced earnings results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2020. For the fourth quarter, the company announced total revenue was BRL 2,211.592 million compared to BRL 2,439.328 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 368.037 million compared to BRL 440.562 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 0.74 compared to BRL 0.88 a year ago. For the full year, total revenue was BRL 6,245.372 million compared to BRL 7,808.045 million a year ago. Operating loss was BRL 31.417 million compared to operating Income of BRL 807.543 million a year ago. Net loss was BRL 27.154 million compared to net income of BRL 592.651 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was BRL 0.05 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of BRL 1.19 a year ago.
Guararapes Confeccoes SA is a Brazil-based company primarily engaged in the fashion industry. The Company is involved in the manufacture, wholesale, retail and export of clothing and fabrics, as well as in the import and wholesale of footwear, bath and table linens, perfumes and cosmetics, among others. The Company's activities are divided into three business segments: Retail, which focuses on selling apparel and other goods through stores network under the Lojas Riachuelo brand name; Finance, which offers consumer loans granted through credit cards, and Other, which includes commercial real estate rental and management, as well as road trucking, among others. The Company operates through a number of subsidiaries, such as Lojas Riachuelo SA, Midway Shopping Center Ltda, Midway SA - Credito Financiamento e Investimento and Transportadora Casa Verde Ltda.
