MANNHEIM/MAINTAL (dpa-AFX) - The lubricant manufacturer Fuchs intends to take over the Hessian specialty lubricant supplier Lubcon. The family-run company, headquartered in Maintal, has many years of experience in the development, manufacture and sale of greases, oils and pastes, Fuchs announced on Monday at its headquarters in Mannheim. Both sides have signed an agreement on the purchase. A price was not disclosed.

Lubcon products are reportedly used in various sectors such as the railroad, paper, textile, food, pharmaceutical and wind industries. The company employs 211 people and generated sales of around 40 million euros in the 2023 financial year. The Fuchs Group, which is listed on the MDax, has 6,200 employees and most recently generated sales of 3.5 billion euros. The Fuchs share initially did not react to the news./stw/he
