Farmacias Benavides, S.A.B. de C.V. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was MXN 3,736.71 million compared to MXN 3,486.72 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 61.57 million compared to net loss of MXN 225.65 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 0.15059 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of MXN 0.551924 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was MXN 10,970.14 million compared to MXN 10,161.16 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 78.11 million compared to net loss of MXN 275.08 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 0.191038 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of MXN 0.672828 a year ago.
Farmacias Benavides SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company primarily engaged in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. The Company operates a network of over 700 drug stores located nationwide under the Farmacias Benavides name. Through its network of drug stores, it sells a variety prescription and over the counter (OTC) medicines, cosmetics, personal and baby care products and toiletries, as well as it also provides such related services as laboratory samples, home delivery, prescription laboratory, online pharmacy and photo processing services. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Servicios Operacionales Benavides SA de CV, Benavides de Reynosa SA de CV and Servicios Logisticos Benavides SA de CV, and Fasa Investment Limitada which was its majority shareholder with 85.25% of its interest.
