The board of European Opportunities Trust PLC announced the appointment of Neeta Patel CBE as independent non-executive director of the company. Neeta will join the board on 1 January 2024. Neeta is a highly experienced executive with over 35 years of strategy and operational leadership experience in technology, media, insurance and education sectors, as well as in start-ups and scaling companies.

Her experience includes senior leadership roles at Legal & General plc, ft.com (the Financial Times' website) and the British Council, the government's international education and cultural agency. More recently she was the founding CEO of the Centre for Entrepreneurs, a board adviser at Tech London Advocates, a member of the advisory board at City University Ventures and an entrepreneur mentor-in-residence at London Business School. She is currently a non-executive Director at Allianz Technology Trust PLC, a FTSE 250 investment trust that invests in quoted mid-cap technology companies, and at Albion Venture Capital Trust plc.

Neeta is also a board adviser at several early-stage technology companies. Neeta was awarded a CBE in the Queen's honours list in October 2020 for services to entrepreneurship and technology. Neeta will be appointed as a member of the Audit & Risk, Nominations, Remuneration, and Management Engagement Committees with effect from her appointment to the Board.
