Endesa reports a 60% drop in net current income to E951 in 2023. In published terms (consolidated net income), the figure stands at 742 million euros.

Sales are forecast at 25,459 million euros for 2023. On a like-for-like basis, EBITDA fell by 18% to 4,392 million euros. Reported EBITDA, which includes extraordinary impacts on the gas business and provisions for digitization, fell by 32% to 3,777 million euros.

'The year was marked by solid cash generation, which took cash flow to the end of 2023 to 4,697 million euros' says the group.

During the year, Endesa added 600 megawatts (MW) of new renewable capacity, to reach 9,900 MW. The network of charging stations totaled 19,300 at the end of the year, an increase of 39% year-on-year.

The positive commercial trend continues, with the number of electricity customers on the free market reaching 6.9 million. This brings the total number of customers to 10.5 million.

José Bogas, Chief Executive Officer, commented: ' After a year 2023 marked by extraordinary circumstances, we anticipate a return to growth for the current year based on the normalization of market conditions. We reconfirm the objectives announced at the last Capital Markets Day: to achieve EBITDA of between €4,900 and €5,200 million, which would represent an increase of between 11% and 18%; and to increase net income before non-recurring items by between 60% and 70%, to reach a range of €1,600 to €1,700 million'.
