Prominent Serbian e-commerce platform Ananas officially marked the start of its operations in North Macedonia on October 24.

Ananas.rs, a pioneer in the Serbian e-commerce arena, has embarked on its regional expansion, with the debut of Ananas.mk as the initial step.

On October 10, 2022, Ananas E-commerce announced it officially became the owner of the Macedonian online shopping brands Grouper.mk and Paopao.mk, after it acquired 100% of Vebspot, which runs the two platforms, from Payten, a member of Polish group Asseco.

This is the largest online venture backed by Serbia’s Delta Holding. The event in Skopje was attended by Miroslav Miskovic, the president of Delta Holding.

In her address, Nina Angelovska, the director of international development at Ananas, underscored that Ananas.mk is committed to setting new benchmarks in e-commerce and ensuring optimal experiences for both buyers and partners.

"With our partners at @ananas.ecommerce.mk, we celebrated the official launch. Macedonian companies now have a new sales channel - a secure and trustworthy partner for business growth. Buyers also have a fresh online shopping destination, with a selection of over 100,000 products and swift delivery," Angelovska said in an Instagram post.

Expressing her confidence in revolutionising e-commerce in the region, Angelovska said she was delighted that North Macedonia was chosen as the first country in this expansion plan.

In just three months of operation, Ananas.mk successfully onboarded 100,000 products onto the platform collaborating with over 160 sellers.

“Ananas’ mission is to become the Amazon of the Balkans — to bring the online shopping experience seen in the developed countries to these parts of the Balkans,” Angelovska said in an interview with bne IntelliNews last November.
