BEIJING (Reuters) - BYD will fix software in 16,666 Seagull electric vehicles from May 20 to reduce the chance of accidents, China's market regulator said on Tuesday.

The action involving some Seagull EVs produced between April and May 2023 is described as a product recall under Chinese regulations, it added.

Some of the cars affected have issues with camera driver software which could cause the reversing screen display to fail, affecting the driver's field of vision and increasing the risk of collision, the regulator said.
