Former Lufthansa executive Stefan Pichler will step into the role of CEO of Air Berlin Plc on February 1, 2015 facing the daunting task of continuing the ongoing restructuring of the beleaguered German airline. Pichler is succeeding Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, who threw in the towel after finding himself unable to inspire a turnaround in fortunes amid fierce competition. Most recently, Pichler led Fiji Airways.
