Accor has announced that the Banyan Tree Group, one of the world's largest multi-brand hotel groups, is set to make its European debut with the forthcoming opening of Banyan Tree Varko Bay, a future luxury resort on the Varko peninsula in Pogonia (Greece), bringing the Banyan Tree - Accor partnership to fruition.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the five-star resort will comprise some 116 villas and 45 branded residences that will 'blend perfectly with the magnificent coastline of the Varko peninsula', says the group.

According to the press release, Banyan Tree Varko Bay will be 'built and operated in accordance with strict
sustainable development and eco-sensitivity criteria, immersing guests in an unspoilt natural environment'.
