ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- Harman International Industries, Stamford, Connecticut, has been assigned a patent (9,813,813) developed by two co-inventors for "customization of a vehicle audio system." The abstract states: "Embodiments are provided for customizing an audio system of a vehicle. An example computing device for customization of an audio system of a vehicle includes a display configured to present a user interface, a processor, and a storage device storing instructions executable by the processor to generate the user interface for presentation via the display, and receive user input to the user interface requesting one or more adjustments to an audio system, the one or more adjustments including instructions to tune an amplifier of the vehicle by adjusting digital signal processing (DSP) settings of the amplifier. The instructions are further executable to transmit the one or more requested adjustments to a communication interface of the amplifier of the vehicle, the adjusted DSP settings being stored in the amplifier and retrievable by the computing device."

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- DePuy Mitek, Raynham, Massachusetts, has been assigned a patent (9,808,237) developed by five co-inventors for "methods and devices for passing sutures around anatomical structures." The abstract states: "Various exemplary methods and devices are provided for passing sutures around anatomical structures. In an exemplary embodiment, a suture delivery device is provided that includes a body portion having a suture delivery member disposed therein and configured to pass a suture around an anatomical structure. The suture delivery member can be movable between a retracted configuration in which the suture delivery member is disposed within the body portion and an advanced configuration in which the suture delivery member extends distally beyond the body portion and assumes an arcurate shape. The arcurate shape can correspond to a shape of the anatomical structure and can extend almost all of the way around the anatomical structure, for example at least around 270.degree. of a circle, thus assisting a user in passing the suture around the anatomical structure without having to manually manipulate the suture delivery device at awkward angles around adjacent tissue."
