[For Immediate Release] Charity Movie 20:16 Based on True Story of Yip's Chemical Chairman Tony Ip Premieres in Hong Kong

(Hong Kong, 15 May 2017) The charity movie 20:16, which production was funded personally by Mr. Tony Ip, Chairman of Yip's Chemical Holdings Limited (HKEX: 00408) ("Yip's Chemical" or the "Group"), the world's largest manufacturer of acetate solvents and one of China's major manufacturers of petrochemical products, premiered in Hong Kong at The Grand cinema in Elements on 15 May 2017 (Monday). The movie based on a true story stars famous Hong Kong actor Mr. Lau Chung Yan, Damian, and up-and-coming mainland actors Miss Lu Xingchen and Mr. Wu Zhunyu. It is an inspiring movie about a pair of brother and sister, who made their ways from Mainland China to Hong Kong, started a business with HK$4,000 in 1971 in a 40-square-feet metal sheet-walled space in an alley in Hong Kong. After decades of hard work, they succeeded in building a business and contributed to the development of the city. The movie will be released in both Mainland China and Hong Kong on 18 May.

To uphold Mr. Tony Ip's charity philosophy, apart from spreading the positive message of "Excellence is the Reward of Perseverance" in the society and among young people through the movie, all net box office receipts of the movie from Mainland China and Hong Kong will be donated to charity without deducting production fees. And, Mr. Ip has pledged to donate a total of approximately HK$22 million to different charitable projects. He would donate the difference if the final net box office receipt is less than HK$22 million. If the receipts exceed HK$22 million, the excess will be donated to Ip Chi Shing Charitable Foundation, a charitable foundation set up in 2006 under Mr. Ip's own name, to benefit more people in need. Donations will be made to including the Asian Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness and China Disabled Persons' Federation for acquiring five mobile eye surgery centres with advanced ophthalmologic surgical equipment installed to help cataract patients in remote areas regain vision, the Hong Kong Seagull Scholarship, as well as Hong Kong Caritas to provide financial support to university students from families-in-need and assistance to the underprivileged. To mark the act of charity, a cheque presentation ceremony was held and hosted by Mr. Ip himself at the movie premiere.

Mr. Tony Ip said, "We are able to release the movie 20:16 today thanks not only to the whole-hearted performance of all actors and actresses, but also to the dedication of the production crew and support from all sectors of the society. The smooth production of the movie is owed to all of them. Apart from supporting charitable causes with the proceeds from the movie, it is also my hope to, through the movie, convey positive messages and inspire young people to pursue their dreams with a 'never give up' spirit."
