Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will launch its revamped streaming service HBO Max in the Netherlands in June. The service will bring together current programming from HBO Max, real-life entertainment from discovery+ and all international sports broadcasts from Eurosports premium subscription.

WBD has chosen to maintain the brand name HBO Max for this revamped streaming service in the Netherlands and Belgium, this because broadcaster Max had objections. In other countries, it will be called Max.

The launch of the revamped HBO Max is accompanied by the long-awaited return of the HBO Original series House of the Dragon, whose second season premieres June 17.

HBO Max says it is bringing a new streaming experience to the Netherlands with more than twice the amount of content already available. That includes Barbie, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom and Wonka - plus HBO Originals like The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Euphoria, True Detective: Night Country, The Regime, The Sympathizer, The Jinx Part Two and the new comedy series The Franchise.

A new series of Max Originals, based on popular Warner Bros. titles, will also appear on the platform, including The Penguin and Welcome to Derry (Stephen Kings IT). Films from Warner Bros.' extensive catalog are also among the offerings, including the entire Harry Potter series, The Matrix, The Dark Knight, Joker and The Lord of the Rings, as well as popular series from Discovery and TLC such as Gold Rush, Fixer Upper and 90 Day Fiancé.

This summer, HBO Max is also the only place where subscribers can watch everything from the Paris 2024 Olympics. Paris 2024 is part of every subscription package. A Sports add-on offers fans "much more great sports," including cycling from both the men's and women's World Tour such as the three major cycling tours (Giro d'Italia, La Vuelta a España and Tour de France), the Tour de France Femmes and all the monuments, classics and all cyclocross. Also watch all UFC events, tennis Grand Slams such as Australian Open, Roland-Garros and US Open, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, plus all major winter sports World Cups and World Cup events.
