The company has signed an agreement with the Chester County Solid Waste Authority (CCSWA), the public authority in charge of waste management in Chester County (Pennsylvania, USA), to produce biomethane at the Lanchester Waste Storage and Recovery Center in Narvon.

As part of this project, Waga Energy will build a purification unit using its patented WAGABOX® technology to produce biomethane, a renewable substitute for fossil natural gas, from the biogas emitted by the degradation of organic matter contained in waste.

The WAGABOX® unit will be able to process up to 3,200 m3/h of raw gas, producing around 130 GWh of biomethane per year. Its production will avoid the emission of 21,500 tonnes of eqCO2 by substituting natural gas.

This is the sixth project undertaken by Waga Energy in the United States.

Guénaël Prince, President and CEO of Waga Energy Inc (USA), said: ' By choosing the reference technology, the Lanchester Waste Storage and Recovery Center will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions while generating additional revenue. '
