Veidekke has won the contract for renewing the contact line system between Etterstad and Lillestrøm on the main railway out of Oslo for Bane NOR. The commission is an execution contract with a value of NOK 248 million excluding VAT. The contact line system will be completely renewed from Etterstad to Alnabru, and in addition the return current circuit will be renewed and reinforced on the section from Alnabru to Lillestrøm. The project includes establishing 260 foundations with masts and fixtures, installing ten kilometres of new contact line and building 12 new transformers for return current.

Veidekke Bane was established in 1999 and refurbishes and maintains railways and tramways. The company operates all over Norway, has a turnover of around NOK 500 million per year, and has 150 employees with expertise in all railway engineering disciplines. Work starts after Easter this year and will be completed in the winter of 2026.
