ICAP's Charity Days have directly transformed the lives of 38 children born with a cleft condition who received lifesaving and life-changing surgeries as a result of the funding.

In South Africa, The Almond Tree runs a preschool and primary school, with a high standard of education based on teachers who are well-trained and certified. They provide a learning environment particularly for children with significant learning gaps due to neglect or poor early learning foundations. ICAP's Charity Day donation made it possible to fully resource three start-up classrooms in the school (Grades R, 1 and 2), as well as playground equipment and shading for outdoor exercise and play. 75 students benefitted in the first year and many more will benefit as students move through the school years, making use of the equipment and classrooms.

Through the donation from Johannesburg's ICAP Charity Day, 70 abandoned babies were provided with much-needed supplies and medication. The charity was delighted to be able to purchase new baby bottles, teats and nappies (they use around 12,000 a month). In addition, a monthly payment to a pharmacy helped with much-needed medication for sick babies.

The Love Trust delivers education and social care to vulnerable children by supporting the Nokuphila Primary School in Thembisa. ICAP Charity Day, through the Johannesburg office, has made two donations to the school. The most recent paid for transportation for 357 children to travel to school on a daily basis. It has also contributed to providing nutritious meals for them while they are at school. This ensures the students' attendance is consistent and that they are adequately fed. As a result, they are supported to perform as well as their peers who attend private schools.

The donation from the Johannesburg office supplied about 30% of the South African charity's annual funds in one year, educating 30 higher functioning children with Down Syndrome and Special Educational Needs. 45 parents also benefitted from the positive impact of education and care for their children.

"Without funding, we would not have been able to launch a state-of-the-art media centre for special needs children."

Two donations from ICAP's Charity Day have directly transformed the lives of 38 children born with a cleft condition who received lifesaving and life-changing surgeries as a result of the funding. In addition, ICAP's support indirectly benefits approximately 6,000 young school children from low-income communities, who are part of the Mpumalanga school oral health programme, with funding contributing towards the purchase of portal dental equipment. The support for operational costs during Covid helped Operation Smile South Africa continue operating, despite heavily reduced income streams.

ICAP Charity Day funded Friendship Society for the Blind to integrate children into mainstream education through daily kindergarten classes. Funding also helped to provide transportation from all over Bahrain to bring individuals with visual impairments together to socialise and to learn life and vocational skills.
