Dr. Jens Schulte will become the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of thyssenkrupp AG on June 1 of this year. He succeeds Dr. Klaus Keysberg, who - as announced last September - has decided not to extend his contract after reaching the age of 60 this year and will step down on May 31. The Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG had already approved the appointment of Jens Schulte as a member of the Executive Board and CFO of thyssenkrupp AG at the end of November last year. In accordance with the German Corporate Governance Code, Jens Schulte has been appointed as a member of the Executive Board for three years.

Prof. Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG: "The Group is undergoing a fundamental transformation process. As a proven financial expert in listed and foundation companies, Jens Schulte perfectly complements the competence profile of the Executive Board team.
I am extremely pleased that we have won Jens Schulte over for thyssenkrupp. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Klaus Keysberg, who has not only been a member of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp AG since 2019, but has also played a key role in shaping the fortunes of the Group in a wide variety of management positions for a total of 28 years. On behalf of the thyssenkrupp Supervisory Board and the entire workforce, I wish him all the best for the future."

Miguel López, Chairman of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp AG: "With the appointment of Jens Schulte on June 1, the reorganization of the Executive Board is complete. Together, we will significantly increase the Group's financial performance and profitability and ensure its ability to pay dividends in the long term. In particular, we want to leverage the growth potential of the green transformation and decarbonization in our businesses. I am very much looking forward to working with Jens Schulte."

Jens Schulte joins thyssenkrupp from Schott AG. Most recently, he was CFO of the specialty glass and materials technology company and a member of the Executive Board. He began his professional career at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company and then worked at the investment bank Goldman Sachs. This was followed by management and board positions at Siemens and the tool manufacturer Hilti in Switzerland before he moved to Schott AG in 2016. Jens Schulte was born in Wuppertal in 1971. He studied business administration at the University of Cologne and completed his doctorate at the EBS University of Business and Law in Oestrich-Winkel.
