(Alliance News) - Team17 Group PLC on Tuesday said Non-Executive Chair Chris Bell will step down at the end of this year, with replacement Frank Sagnier to join the company in September.

Bell joined the Wakefield, England-based developer of video games, educational entertainment apps for children, and working simulation games, before its initial public offering in 2018. He will leave on December 31 "to focus on his other business interests."

Chief Executive Officer Debbie Bestwick said that during his tenure, Bell "presided over a period of significant financial and operational growth."

Team17 has appointed Frank Sagnier as non-executive chair designate, and said he will formally join on September 6 before officially replacing Bell as chair on January 1. He also will chair Team17's nomination committee.

"Frank is one of the most respected gaming executives globally in video games, his knowledge is second to none, but equally his leadership and experience in the gaming world will bring huge value to the board as we prepare for the next stage," Bestwick commented. She added that Team17 will likewise benefit from Sagnier's "strong [mergers and acquisitions] experience."

Sagnier, who worked in marketing at Acclaim Entertainment Inc early in his career, joined Electronic Arts Inc in 1999. He was appointed chief executive officer of Codemasters Software Co Ltd in 2014, and "led the transformation and restructuring of the business before its acquisition," prior to its acquisition by EA in 2014.

Team17 shares were untraded at 335.00 pence on Tuesday in London. They last traded on Monday.
