Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) adheres to its Building Homes with Heart philosophy by taking its social responsibility seriously, supporting charitable causes and caring for families in need and the underprivileged. The Community Chest of Hong Kong named SHKP a Third Top Donor and gave it a President's Award and Award of Merit at the recent 2015/16 presentation ceremony in recognition of its efforts and contributions to society.

SHKP has long been committed to community service and encourages its staff, business partners and stakeholders to take part in advancing different charitable causes. Last year, two key charitable sporting events helped raise funds for the Community Chest, including the SHKP Vertical Run for Charity - Race to Hong Kong ICC and Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon. SHKP also provided extra funding to support Community Chest social services and participated in The Community Chest Corporate Challenge, The Community Chest Wheelock Swim for Millions, The Community Chest BOCHK Charity Golf Day and other charitable sporting events to give back to the community.

The company's Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative has cared for and provided immediate aid to needy families and the underprivileged over the years. The SHKP Volunteer Team, established 13 years ago, offers services for the elderly, recovering mental patients and disadvantaged children, with some volunteers also applying their professional skills to improve living environments for needy families. The Team has put in over 8.5 million hours of service so far.

Fostering a harmonious society is a core element of SHKP's corporate culture, and it will continue encouraging its staff, business partners and stakeholders to show compassion and care for the underprivileged.
