COLOGNE (dpa-AFX) - Despite the declining German advertising market, outdoor advertising specialist Stroer again increased sales and operating profit in the completed quarter. Compared to the same period last year, the April to June earnings jumped by seven percent to just under 455 million euros, the MDax group announced in Koln on Wednesday. In particular, the digital out-of-home (DOoH) business again grew significantly. Stroer sees a "structural change" in the German advertising market towards outdoor advertising. Asambeauty's cosmetics business, which has been up for sale for some time, also grew significantly.

In the ongoing sales process, the beauty store is now to be presented to potential buyers in more detail. The good development of Asambeauty is an "excellent starting point" for the spin-off from the group, said co-chief executive Christian Schmalzl, according to the statement. Stroer includes Asambeauty and statistics portal Statista in its "DaaS & E-Commerce" division.

Meanwhile, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) for the second quarter, adjusted for special effects, rose three percent to 130 million euros. Below the line, Stroer earned just under 27 million euros, compared to 42.6 million in the previous year. However, the Group had still benefited from the sale of a Turkish subsidiary in the previous year. Sales and earnings were roughly as experts had expected./ngu/zb/he
