BERLIN (Reuters) - Alfred Gusenbauer, former chancellor of Austria, will stand down as supervisory board chairman at Strabag over his links with the insolvent property group Signa, he said in a statement shared by the construction company on Tuesday.
Gusenbauer said he took the decision "to avoid any negative reputational impact on Strabag, which, in any case, maintains no special business relations with Signa".
Gusenbauer serves as supervisory board chairman of several companies belonging to Signa, the biggest casualty so far of Europe's property crisis.
