SMT Scharf AG announced consolidated earnings results for the first quarter of 2014. For the quarter, the company reported profit from operating activities (EBIT) fell to EUR 0.1 million against EUR 3.2 million a year ago, mainly due to the non-recurrence of planned revenue accompanied by an unchanged number of employees. At the bottom line, the group reports consolidated net income of EUR 0.4 million or EUR 0.09 per share against EUR 2.1 million or EUR 0.51 per share a year ago.

The company provided earnings guidance for the fiscal year 2014. The company has nevertheless partially downgraded its forecast for the current 2014 fiscal year. On a current basis, EBIT of approximately EUR 1.0 million, and break-even at the net income level. The forecast for other key indicators remains unchanged.
