BOILER LIGHT UP ACHIEVED FOR SECOND UNIT OF 600 MW BUTIBORI THERMAL POWER PROJECT, MAHARASHTRA FIRST 300 MW UNIT HAS ALREADY BEEN COMMISSIONED ENTIRE 600 MW TO BE OPERATIONAL BY END OF 2012 AT ` 3600 CRORE BUTIBORI IS ONE OF THE LARGEST INVESTMENTS IN THE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AMONG THE MOST COMPACT THERMAL PLANTS IN THE COUNTRY Mumbai, October 1st, 2012: Reliance Power has announced the Boiler light up for the second of two units of its 600 MW Butibori Thermal Power Project near Nagpur in Maharashtra. Power generated from the plant will help reduce demand supply gap in Maharashtra.

The Boiler light up for the second unit of the plant has been done in 22 months from start of boiler erection. With the commissioning of this unit by end of the year end, full capacity of 600 MW will be available from this plant.
The investment of over ` 3600 crore in the Butibori plant represents one of the biggest investments in Maharashtra. The plant is among the compact sized thermal plants in the country with its 600 MW capacity requiring no more than 275 acres of
plant land.
