Regarding the news dissemination on behalf of BSW Consumer Service (Layanan Konsumen BSW) concerning B3 waste contaminated cement product, herewith PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. ('Indocement') declares that the above information is not true or a hoax.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia ('KLHK') has hooked up with several cement factories, one of them is Indocement, in managing medical waste with infectious characteristic due to these cement factories own kilns with high temperature of 1.200'C - 1.600'C and air pollution control facilities as well as appropriate feeding. The standard temperature to eradicate infectious medical waste is above 800'C. The eradication of B3 waste in the kilns of cement factories will not have any effects on cement product because the substances contained therein will be destroyed when burned above exceeding standard temperature.

To date, Indocement has not received any appointment letter yet from the KLHK to manage those medical wastes; therefore Indocement has not taken any action. The eradication of B3 waste must be executed with official permission from KLHK and follow the right standard operating procedure.
