21-Jul-2021 Bukit Asam has Donated Rp 30.5 Billion as of June 2021 to Fight Covid-19 Pandemic

PT Bukit Asam (PTBA), a part of state-owned mining holding company MIND ID, has been actively participating in efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic which still plagues Indonesia today.

From the start of the pandemic to June 2021, PTBA made donations worth Rp 30.5 billion, with Rp 23.75 billion distributed in 2020 and Rp 6.75 billion from January to June 2021.

The Rp 23.75 billion donations distributed by PTBA in 2020 were in the form of medical devices, dissemination of information to prevent the spread of Covid-19, strengthening of healthcare facilities, participation in prevention efforts made by relevant stakeholders, and Sentra Industri Bukit Asam (SIBA), a program to strengthen and restore the socio-economic conditions of those impacted by the pandemic.

Meanwhile, in 2021, the Rp 6.75 billion donations were in the form of medical devices, staple food, cash donations, dissemination of information on Covid-19 prevention, and supporting facilities such as isolation and pharmacy rooms, to name a few.

People living around PTBA mining operations in Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province, have been prioritized for receiving the donations. Moreover, PTBA has also donated to people in other provinces on Sumatra Island under the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises' program.

PTBA ensures that its mining operations have been running under strict health protocols set by the government.

The company highly appreciates all health workers and paramedics who have been fighting tooth and nail to treat those infected with and stop the spread of Covid-19.

PTBA's Donation of Sacrificial Animals

During the 1442 Hijri Eid al-Adha (Day of Sacrifice) on July 20, 2021, PTBA also distributed 149 cows and 12 goats for the qurban or animal sacrifice ritual.

Those sacrificial animals were distributed to several regions, with details as follows:

95 cows to Tanjung Enim,

33 cows to Palembang,

7 cows to Ombilin,

8 cows and 12 goats to Lampung,

6 cows to Jakarta.

PTBA President Director Suryo Eko Hadianto said the Eid al-Adha was a true sharing moment. The spirit of sharing, he said, must constantly be maintained by all PTBA individuals during these challenging times.

PTBA is a state-owned mining firm that is currently transforming into a world-class energy and chemical company. Hence, it has become mandatory for PTBA to bring prosperity to the people in the company's operational environment.

'Let's share and care for each other. May Almighty God protect all of us, our beloved families, and the Indonesian nation so that we can soon recover from this pandemic,' Suryo said.
