9-Aug-2021 Bukit Asam Gives 488 Soccer Balls to Support South Sumatra's Sports Progress

Palembang (ANTARA) - PT Bukit Asam (Persero) gives 488 soccer balls to encourage sports progress in South Sumatra Province and support the local government's program 'The Million Ball Movement'.

Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility of PT Bukit Asam Hartono states that this contribution is the company's commitment to support local government sports programs, in accordance with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of National Football Development.

'On June 29, 2020, the company handed over 200 balls, whereas today 288 balls with national standard were handed over,' Hartono says when giving the balls to the Head of the South Sumatra Province Youth and Sports Office, Yusuf Wibowo.

PTBA also supports the development of sports in South Sumatra by building 10 Sports Buildings in a number of regencies/ cities using CSR funds worth IDR128 billion.

By providing support in sports facilities and infrastructure, PTBA hopes to contribute to the provincial government's efforts in shaping talented athletes who can make the province and the country proud.

'We hope that the athletes will train harder and become successors who will make us proud,' he says.

Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sumatra Youth and Sports Office, Yusuf Wibowo, expresses his gratitude for PTBA's concern for the development of soccer.

He says hundreds of balls from PTBA will be used in competitions, and the distribution will be carried out to districts/cities.

'We are very grateful because with this assistance, many sports players in South Sumatra will be motivated to continue to strive in producing great athletes,' said Yusuf.
