Antonio Hernández-Rodicio has been appointed Events Manager of Grupo PRISA. In this position he'll be overseeing the strategic generation of content and formats for political, social, economic and cultural events. The Events Management division will drive activity in this area in collaboration with El País, Cadena SER, Cinco Días, Diario AS and Santillana - all PRISA brands, and leaders in their respective markets - as well as with business units in the Americas.
Hernández-Rodicio, 51, is a journalist and a graduate in Business Management from the San Telmo International Institute. He has also completed the Digital Business Executive Program (DIBEX) at the ISDI (Higher Institute for Internet Development). He has been linked to Grupo PRISA since 1991. He has been managing director of Cadena SER for the past five years, a period which saw the radio network maintain a firm lead, based on the credibility and quality of its news, sports and entertainment programs. Between 2011 and 2013, also at Cadena SER, he was director of News. He has also headed Podium Podcast, the podcast platform operated by Cadena SER and PRISA Radio, and was deputy editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief of the newspaper El Correo de Andalucía between 2001 and 2011. He has also been a correspondent for El País, the Agencia EFE as well as other media and publications.
