PIMCO Dynamic Income Fund announced financial results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2013. For the quarter, net investment income was $45,121,753 or $0.99 per share against $34,104,704 or $0.74 per share for the same period of last year. Net realized and change in unrealized loss was $21,320,422 or $0.46 per share against gain of $144,384,054 or $3.14 per share for the same period of last year. As at September 30, 2013, net asset value was $30.56 against $28.02 as at September 30, 2012.
For the six months, net investment income was $88,713,761 or $1.95 per share against $39,476,008 or $0.87 per share for the same period of last year. Net realized and change in unrealized loss was $46,528,072 or $1.02 per share against gain of $172,522,281 or $3.83 per share for the same period of last year.
PIMCO Dynamic Income Fund (the Fund) is a diversified closed-end management investment company. The Funds primary investment objective is to seek current income and secondary objective is capital appreciation. The Fund normally invests worldwide in a portfolio of debt obligations and other income-producing securities of any type and credit quality, with varying maturities and related derivative instruments. The Fundâs investment universe includes mortgage-backed securities, investment grade and high-yield corporates, developed and emerging markets corporate and sovereign bonds, other income-producing securities, and related derivative instruments. The Fund normally invests at least 25% of its total assets in privately issued (non-agency) mortgage-related securities. The Fund may normally invest up to 40% of its total assets in securities of issuers economically tied to emerging market countries. Pacific Investment Management Company LLC serves as the Fundâs investment manager.
