The owner of Don Quijote stores said Thursday that it will financially support 100 Ukrainian refugee households as part of its humanitarian aid effort amid the war in the country.

Pan Pacific International Holdings Corp. said it would accept refugees who are recognized by the Japanese government, and offer them job opportunities.

One million people have fled Ukraine since Russia's invasion, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
