'We will be happy to use our knowledge and resources in this original and very interesting campaign. Thanks to it, Poles can really help children in Gambia,' said Grzegorz Hinc, President of the Management Board of C.Hartwig Gdynia S.A. 'This year we are celebrating 160 years of our company's activity, which is why we are all the more proud that our vast experience in the logistics sector can serve such a noble purpose,' he adds.

Gambia is one of the poorest countries in Africa. The flip-flops collected by the organizers of the action are an important help in protecting children from dangerous injuries, which often turn into risky infections in the African climate.

The action was initiated by Maciej Kalarus, a lecturer at the Technical and Humanities Academy in Bielsko-Biała. Last year he collected 680 pairs of flip-flops at the university, which he himself took to Gambia. This year, the scale of the campaign is much larger. It is supported by 283 ambassadors, including schools, universities, service outlets and shops.

'We will be collecting flip-flops until the end of June, but we already know that there will be a lot of them - maybe a few or more thousand pairs. That is why the help of a partner with logistic experience who knows how to organize such a large transport is very valuable for us', said Maciej Kalarus, lecturer at the Technical and Humanistic Academy in Bielsko-Biała.
