MOSCOW, April 26 (Reuters) - Russia's second-largest oil producer Lukoil is holding an annual shareholders' meeting on Friday to consider a dividend among other matters, but has yet to name a board head after its two previous chairmen died prematurely.

Vladimir Nekrasov died suddenly in October at the age of 66 after suffering acute heart failure, the company said.

The previous head of Lukoil's board, Ravil Maganov, died in September 2022 after falling from a hospital window in Moscow, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

Lukoil did not reply to a request for comment.

Its name comes from the western Siberian towns Langepas, Urai and Kogalym.

A company's board typically decides on strategic direction and can include well-known experts or former politicians with lobbying heft. However, many Russian companies are concealing the names of their board for fear of sanctions from the West over Ukraine.

Unusually among Russian companies, Lukoil took a public stand over what Moscow calls its special military operation in the neighbouring country.

In a March 2022 statement, which remains on the company's website, the company's board of directors expressed its concern over the "tragic events" in Ukraine and called for the "earliest possible end to armed conflict" via negotiations.
