Keurig Dr Pepper named Tim Cofer as chief operating officer, with plans for Cofer to succeed current CEO Bob Gamgort in 2024.

The snack and beverage company said Wednesday that Cofer was joining the company from Central Garden & Pet, where he is CEO. Cofer will join Keurig Dr Pepper on Nov. 6.

The company said that Cofer would serve as COO until the second quarter of 2024, at which point he would step in as CEO and Gamgort would serve as executive chairman.

Cofer previously held various roles with Mondelez International and its predecessor, Kraft Foods. He served as chief growth officer and head of several regions for the company.

Gamgort has helmed Keurig Dr Pepper since November 2022, when former CEO Ozan Dokmecioglu resigned over violations of the company's code of conduct. Dokmecioglu succeeded Gamgort as CEO, a role which he previously held since 2018, and Gamgort stepped back in following Dokmecioglu's departure.
