Kawasaki Ships Four Gas Compressors to Saudi Arabian Jafurah Gas Processing Facility

Tokyo - Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it has shipped four gas compressors from Kobe Works to Saudi Arabia. The compressors were ordered by South Korea's Samsung E&A Co., Ltd..
Samsung E&A Co., Ltd. is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for Aramco's Jafurah Gas Processing Facilities Project, and the gas compressors will be used in a condensate processing facility to be newly constructed in the Jafurah shale gas field. Natural gas produced in the gas field will be used for domestic power generation, and as raw material for the production of lower-carbon fuels, such as hydrogen and ammonia.
Kawasaki has more than a half century of experience in the delivery of compressors to customers and supporting stable equipment operations in Saudi Arabia, India, various parts of the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. This latest order from Samsung E&A Co., Ltd. reflects the level of trust Kawasaki has earned for its products through outstanding technological capabilities and conformance with rigorous environmental requirements.
Building on past successes with high-efficiency gas compressors, Kawasaki will continue working to earn additional orders for projects in various countries, while providing products that help to meet global energy demand.
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. specializes in manufacturing and marketing of transportation and industrial machines equipments. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale of motorcycles and engines (29.8%);
- sale of aerospace equipments (19.9%): aircrafts, helicopters, missiles, electronic equipments, monorails, etc.;
- sale of gas turbines (19.8%): turbines for naval, marines and industrial applications, generators, propulsion systems, etc. The group also develops naval construction activity (construction of ships, submarines, bulk carriers, oil tankers, etc.);
- sale of precision machines (16.8%): primarily hydraulic machines. The group is also developing a manufacturing of industrial machinery activity (tunnel boring machines, curling machines, grinding machines, etc.);
