We expect similar potential from other Indonesian cities like Jakarta."

Drawing attention with high-tech mobility solutions, valuable global collaborations and international awards it received, Karsan continues its cooperation efforts all over the world without slowing down. Finally, at the B20 (Business 20) Summit held in Bali in 2022 as an extension of the G20 summit, Karsan, which signed an important cooperation for the electric minibus and bus transformation in Indonesia, including export and SKD type (Semi Knocked Down) production stages, stands out again with the strategic step it has taken. Karsan signed a memorandum of cooperation with SCHACMINDO, a well-established Indonesian CREDO GROUP company, to support the transformation of the electric public transportation network in Indonesia, to produce and sell right-hand drive electric buses suitable for this market.

Making statements about the electric transformation in the field of public transportation in Indonesia, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, "We have launched a joint project between Karsan and CREDO GROUP for the opportunities that may arise in line with the goals of Indonesia and TransJakarta, Jakarta public transportation company to convert the public transportation network with electric minibuses and buses by 2030. In line with this cooperation, we aim to realize the majority of the transformation of billion-dollar city Jakarta's electric public transportation and tens of thousands of vehicles, which is planned to be completed by 2030. We expect similar potential from other Indonesian cities like Jakarta."

"We would like to move forward with a 2-step- plan in this business opportunity that will contribute to the export of our country and the business volume between the two countries. First of all, we plan to realize the first sales of the vehicles with those produced in Turkey, and then, establishing an SKD type (Semi Knocked-Down) production facility, we aim to finalize the production of right-hand drive vehicles in Indonesia, which are mostly completed in Turkey, and we aim an advantage to be obtained in the sales to the neighboring countries. If we can achieve our goals, we, as Karsan, become very excited, as we'll successfully represent the Turkish automotive industry in this geography as well." Okan Baş said.

"We attract the attention of the world with the models and technologies we produce"

Emphasizing that they have attracted the attention of the world with the electric models they have developed and produced, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, "A prestigious award such as the Sustainable Bus of The Year 2023, which we recently won with our 12-meter electric e-ATA model, as Karsan, actually shows that we are on the right path with our activities. Our Autonomous e-ATAK model, which broke new ground in Europe and North America and currently carries passengers in real road conditions, also continues to attract sector's attention in the same way. In the last 5 years, we started to compete in a totally-new league with our Karsan Electric Evolution strategy, with which we pioneer the transformation of electric mobility by starting with e-JEST, and keep going with e-ATAK, Autonomous e-ATAK, and finally with our 10-12-18 meter e-ATA models. As Karsan, we always work to be one step ahead in the mobility of the future both with our advanced technology models that we have developed and produced and with the pioneering role we play in the electric transformation of public transportation. With the effectuation of the cooperation in Indonesia, we aim to introduce our Karsan branded electric buses to many different markets from Malaysia to the Philippines, from Vietnam to Singapore."
