The independent union of Jordanian Electric Power Company workers decided on May 11, 2013 to suspend a strike they began last week until May 23 to enable the Labour Ministry and Lower House Labour and Social Development Committee to sign an agreement guaranteeing the workers' rights and fair demands. The workers demand better financial benefits, including higher bonuses, end-of-service allowances and better health insurance and transportation services.
