Isuzu Motors Ltd. has decided to appoint Executive Vice President Masanori Katayama to replace Susumu Hosoi as president. Katayama, 60, will be formally appointed as president at a board meeting in June after the company's annual shareholders meeting. Hosoi, 65, will become chairman.

As Hosoi has served as president for eight years, Isuzu will aim to reinforce its business by rejuvenating its management team. Katayama entered Isuzu in 1978 and became executive vice president in April 2014. He has had a long career in production and technical fields.
